Science, finance, and implementation.
Ben Guillon brings more than 25 years across conservation science, finance, environmental markets, and implementation. A veterinarian and CFA charterholder, he connects disciplines that are too often treated separately.
His work creates markets, businesses, and investable assets—and restructures the programs and institutions needed to make environmental outcomes last.
Ben’s training spans veterinary medicine and anthropology, followed by a career at the intersection of conservation and finance. His work has covered environmental markets, conservation assets, transactions, public programs, and the development of businesses and institutions.
Selected work includes the audit and restructuring of an industry-funded lesser prairie-chicken conservation program; efforts to build the economics and delivery capacity of forest restoration in Colorado; and the development of a coordinated habitat-replacement pilot for water infrastructure.
He has served as an expert witness for the U.S. Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service on mitigation-bank valuation. He also leads the Conservation Investment Germinator and co-directs the Conservation Finance Incubator.
Based in Colorado, Ben brings a global perspective to the relationship between natural systems, institutions, and investment. NetEarth brings together partners across disciplines and geographies to meet the demands of each assignment.
